Factory Acceptance Tests
Three independent test rooms with LI up to 2,400 kV

Each transformer is subjected to all quality and routine controls, type and special tests required by the customer’s technical specifications and national and international standards. At the end of the testing, a copy of the Test Certificate is delivered to the Customer.
Three test rooms are currently active in Elettromeccanica Tironi:
- SPD: for distribution transformers;
- SPP: for transformers with LI up to 1,500 kV;
- SHP: for transformers with LI up to 2,400 kV.
The test rooms are independent and it is possible to carry out all acceptance tests, both standard and special, in accordance with IEC 60076 standards (with the exception of the short circuit withstand test which is carried out at external laboratories such as CESI and KEMA).
An internal chemical laboratory – the TIRONI Lab – is also active and it is possible to carry out tests on dielectric fluids, including DGA, both for mineral oils (new and recycled) and for esters (natural and/or synthetic).
Elettromeccanica Tironi also uses software for data acquisition and their processing, optimized for the test instruments so to obtain objective results and related precise reports from the factory tests in a very short time frame and with highest precision. This, combined with the latest technology equipment, allows the Company to keep the main performance characteristics of the transformers under control.
