Turkish mission for Elettromeccanica Tironi

Eastern suggestions. When history and future meet together. When myth merges with innovation. Elettromeccanica Tironi looks at the Bosphorus and not only for the natural charm of this historic bridge between West and East.
The eclectic Istanbul, synonymous of trade and commerce, has all the characteristics to become the main target of an imminent expansion for exports and Italian production in the land of the Ottomans.
A real "Turkish mission" has taken shape from 1st till 4th of May; this included a team of twenty-three Italian companies, included Elettromeccanica Tironi, represented on the occasion by MD Matteo Tironi.

Our company has seen in this trip - organized by the Italian Industries Association (Confindustria) and ICE in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - an ideal occasion to strengthen economic relations with Turkey and deepen the investment opportunities offered by this Country.

Turkey is ranked 15th in Modena exports partners and it has risen to the attention of the national business for two main statistics reasons: the population explosion of the latest 3 years (+7,5%, now Turks are 75 million) and the export growth from Emilia-Romagna region to the Anatolian peninsula (+51%) over the same period.
Seventh in the ranking of the major investing Countries and already present on the Turkish ground with 900 companies, Italy looks to the former Ottoman Empire not only for the bilateral trade, but also as an investment destination. Here are the statements from Elettromeccanica Tironi MD, Mr Matteo Tironi: <We export 80% of our turnover - says Mr Tironi - mostly in Europe. We want to focus on other markets, producing locally: the cost of transport for large power transformers affects significally the cost of the good > ("Il Sole 24 Ore" on 03/05/2012).

The decision to sit at a table with the Turkish governement authorities comes from a major fact: the 130 billion dollars that local institutions have decided to allocate for the next ten years for investments in the energy sector.

It is not a coincidence that Thursday, May 3rd has been largely devoted to a seminar on energy. In Turkey, the energy demand increases of 7% by year: by combining this data with the forecast on Italian exports to Turkey (+200%), it is clear the meaning of Elettromeccanica Tironi "Turkish Mission".
