With the repetition of acceptance and type tests to be carried out after the short-circuit test, all the necessary tests for the certification of a new 250MVA autotransformer model 230/155kV with on-load tap-changer, have been successfully completed, manufactured by Elettromeccanica Tironi for the Italian Transmission Network (TERNA).

 

 

A few weeks ago the short-circuit test of the prototype was carried out successfully in CESI laboratory in Rondissone (TO), a special test which is by far the most demanding of all the electromecanical-equipments, in particular for this type of autotransformer.
It is then confirmed, after the last few years successes, the position of ELETTROMECCANICA TIRONI in the small club of producers of high power and voltage autotransformers.
